Only damage and losses to goods involved in the shipment, as well as expenses incurred for these goods, will be accepted as general damage, when such damage, losses and expenses are the direct consequence of the general damage act decided by the master.
General damage is borne by the ship, freight and cargo, assessed in accordance with the provisions of the law.
The amount of damages and losses to be admitted as general average is determined for the ship at the port where shipment ends.
The shipowner is privileged for the payment of general damage contributions on the goods or the price thereof for fifteen days after their delivery, if they have not passed into the hands of third parties.
